Azulejos in Portuguese means tiles, the word comes from the Arab az-zulayj, small brick.

The radiographic idea, the x-ray of an abounded building on its surface. The contraction of the interior and the exterior time in the volume of a tile.

FROM THE CAVE
The cave is the symbolic space. It’s a shelter, it’s a prison where everyone and nobody is. There’s the archeology of sound and time is made a geologic age, of temperature. Bowels and crust are on the same level. Fire creates shadows, darkness is carved in the matter and men are counting days, and hours and minutes. Metals melt and change, light brakes in, like sunlight in the cave.

FROM THE LIMIT, BITES
Limit bites are the monsters perceived along frontiers. The physical sensations in the stomach felt along the boundary, no matter if legal, moral, right or wrong. It’s the fear of crossing, the monster which we can dialogue with.

The panel represents the impression of contact between identities with memories and past. It is an oneiric representation of subconscious dialogues.

Ceramic in this panel is the skin, the fabric that exposes the interior, the revolving nails in the stomach.
